Can physio help with my headache?
In many cases yes, physiotherapy treatment will be able to assist in alleviating headache symptoms. Cervicogenic headache refers to a headache that is caused by neck related tightness or stiffness. Pain is commonly felt on one side of the head/ face more than the other. The pain will generally start at the base of the skull and may radiate over the head. People may experience signs similar to that of a migraine if the cervicogenic headache is quite severe. The treatment with the greatest success for long term relief for cervicogenic headache is a combination of manual physiotherapy treatment along with a stabilising program which your physio will teach you.
